Hi,
I've found an alternative James but there are no records gir him.
I'm looking for baptism records gor James Digby born 1705 and died 1759 in Castle Hedingham. Any help appreciated. Thank you.
My James was married to a Maragaret. There is a Margaret who was a widow and remarried in 1766 which makes sense that this is a better James.

Margaret COOKE to James DIGBY Marriage 27 May 1746 Essex Castle Hedingham : St Nicholas : Parish Register
Castle Hedingham, Essex: St Nicholas : Parish Register baptisms; On freereg
James & Margaret had at least 9 Children baptised between 3 May 1747 & 10 Apr 1763
There were also a number of burials; clearly James was still alive up to 1762 or later.
The only James burial below but no age, he did have a son James baptised 1752
James DIGBY Burial 30 Jun 1796 Essex Castle Hedingham : St Nicholas : Parish Register

As the marriage was in 1746, I would have thought James would be born later than 1705. The first baptisms of a James Digby in Essex after 1700 on freereg are below.
Parents George & Susan do not seem to fit the names of James children
James DIGBY Baptism 10 Jan 1720 Essex Panfield : St Mary the Virgin : Parish Register (7 miles SW of Castle Hedingham, Essex )
This seems more realistic, if James was born in Essex. Parents James & Sarah
(James was James & Margaret’s eldest son, Sarah was their second daughter, so this fits the English naming pattern)
James DIGBY Baptism 11 May 1722 Essex Belchamp Otten: St Ethelbert and All Saints: Parish Register (4 miles N of Castle Hedingham)
