Title: stephen robinson
Post by: tancor2 on Thursday 29 December 22 15:32 GMT (UK)
Stephen Robinson my 4 times G Grandfather was born in Settle  Yorkshire around 1806, he married someone called Elizabeth also born in Settle.
As i no longer subscribe to Find my Past or Ancestry are their any other sites i might find Parish records, to see if i can find their marriage, and find Elizabeths surname.
I think they would have married in Settle sometime before 1829 when my 3 times G Grandmother was born in Settle.

Where do you have Stephen and Elizabeth in 1851  :-\

I can see a baptism for a Mary Robinson in 1828 with parents Stephen & Elizabeth at Giggleswick - their abode Settle, is this them.

I think this is them with their daughter Jane?

The ages are a bit out, compared to the 1841 census, but Stephen's occupation matches (carrier).

Here is 1841 census:

I'm not sure if OP wants our help or just some pointers on where to find records for free.

It might be worth exploring the North Craven Heritage Trust website - their Archives section has lists of a wide variety of documents relating to that area, including some transcripts:

The children on the 1841 census with father Stephen occ Carrier appear to be baptised in Giggleswick with abode Settle.  There are various possible occupations for 'this Stephen'.

I am wondering whether he married Elizabeth Snell in Giggleswick in 1820.

Elizabeths place of birth in 1851 is Ainton (Aynton  :-\  )

i first put this request on in Dec 2022.
i have tried the sites which previous contributors have suggested, with no success on Stephen parents.
on Family search website i have traced his wife family back to 1607 it gives Stephen birth as 26 Feb 1797 in Rathmell North Yorkshire he married Elizabeth Gill on 3 April 1820 in Giggleswick Yorkshire.
but it gives no more information on Stephen.
i also found his grave on Find A Grave site in settle along side his wife.
I am thinking that Stephen is a brick wall that cannot be cracked.
