Title: 1822 marriage look up request
Post by: Olicana on Thursday 22 December 22 20:24 GMT (UK)
William Palmer & Mary Bradley were married at  Roxwell, St. Michael And All Angels, Essex on 8 Jan 1822.
Please could someone look up the details of this marriage?

Can only find a transcription with very little more than you already have.

Both were single and both described as otp.  To see witnesses and/or whether they signed the register or not, you would need to view the register.  Essex Record Office offer this via their subscription service.  See here:

Sarah Chipperfield and Joseph Knight were the witnesses and made their mark. The bride and groom signed.

Thank you for all the extra information.

I found a burial for Mary on 8 June 1836 in Willingdale Doe, St Christopher's, which says she was 37, so born about 1799.
I have been unable to find her birth though.

I can't see  anything on line for Marys Bapt either.
As she isn't alive in 1841 it is hard to know of she was even born in Essex.

I think it most likely that she was local. Are there any other Bradley baptisms around 1799 in Willingale Doe, Willingale Spain, Shellow Bowells or Roxwell that could be her siblings?

Have you discounted the Mary Bradley, bap 30 Oct 1801, Chelmsford?

That she was "of the parish of Roxwell" at marriage does not mean that she was from that Parish.

Thank you for the marriage link Willsy.

Thank you for your suggestion hanes teulu. I wondered about that possibility. Does the baptism say anything about the parents?

As a starter, track the Mary Bradley, Chelmsford re. death/marriage in order to rule her out.

The only extra details I have found for the Mary baptised in Chelmsford are that her parents were John and Mary Bradley. Can anyone see this baptism on 30 October 1801 and let me know her father's occupation please?

Baptismal registers that included a column "Occupation/Profession" were introduced around 1811/12. Quite likely the information may not be present on the 1801 record. I only have sight of the transcript - which does not provide occupation. But transcripts do not always capture the  original in full.
