Title: Williamette “Metta” (Williamson) Moore
Post by: Illatm on Sunday 11 December 22 21:04 GMT (UK)
Metta Moore, wife of Joel Davis Moore. Born 22 Aug 1863 Leeds and Grenville Co. There are Ancestry trees that have her death 21 Mar 1963 in Peterborough, but unsourced. Does anyone have a source? Tx

The OCFA (Ontario cemetery finding aid) has an entry for Willametta Moore in Athens Village, Leeds County, Yonge Rear Twsp.  I would check that out.  Seems more plausible as other children, George Frederick and Bryce are buried in Leeds County as well as Joel.

There was a David Henry Moore married to Wilhemenia Hope who lived in the Peterborough area and his daughter Mary Lang Edwards Dickson is found in Keene Lower Cemetery with a death date of 14 Sept 1963.  Families confused?  Her marriage record did show father as Davis rather than David.

There is a 1958 and a 1963 voters list for Peterborough for Willametta Moore, retired but it is failing to open for me.  Might later one.  Will check it later.

Same cemetery as sons and husband is an entry for Metta Williamson so whether she died elsewhere she seems to be buried in this cemetery.
Disregard my suggestion in my first post of a different cemetery in Leeds.

You can follow the directions from the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid to have someone look up the details contained on the headstone for you.

Thank you, Cosmac. It turns out that there are many related Moores there. I shall send the Leeds and Grenville OGS an order and see what I find. Thank you.
