Hi all,
Not sure if this is something that anyone can help me with, but I am looking for the death information for Elizabeth Anne Hansell-Corrance, wife of the reverend Peter Hansell, who died at the age of 27 in 1839.
She left behind 2 small children who subsequently were taken in by her parents, while the Reverend remarried and had a slew of children with his new wife.
I would love to know the cause of death if that was available anywhere.
Thank you
Paula
Any help is gratefully received.

The only way you are likely to find cause of death is on a death certificate. There does not seem to be one for your lady so the death was probably never registered. It was at the very start of Civil Registration and many deaths slipped through the net, so to speak.

Thank you for the reply. I had hoped that the church records would yield something or otherwise maybe obituaries in the newspaper. It would have been a news-worthy story, a young mother, wife of a reverend and only married a few years.
I'll keep searching, thank you.

Welcome to RootsChat!
Elizabeth's death is mentioned in multiple newspapers, but no cause of death is given, as it is only a few lines of text.
Could this not be her death certificate?
HANSEL, ELIZABETH ANNE 27
GRO Reference: 1839 M Quarter in LANGPORT Volume 10 Page 301
The death certificate will conclusively state the cause of death.

Thank you Queenie,
It looks like that is the one I'm looking for.
I'll see if I can get a copy of it and take it from there.
Thank you so much, it's a great help.
