Title: Simon Sandys died Battle Vinegar Hill 1798

Hi, I am trying to find further details of Simon Sandys from Longford Militia who died in 1798 at the Battle of Vinegar Hill. I was wondering if anyone had details of his family tree. I wonder if he is linked to my Family of Sandys of Roscommon.

There are other petitions of Maria's on the site that you have that snip from and it is worth looking into them all. In one she says that she lost two brothers in actual service, one being Simon.
She claims that the Chief Secretary's Lodge in Phoenix Park, Dublin was built by her brother Major William Sandys, who was also appointed park ranger, and that it was he ‘who distinguished himself Considerably in the Rebellions of 1789 and 1803' as you show above.
