Title: Help identifying a seaside location (possibly North Wales)
Post by: mijath on Thursday 01 December 22 19:40 GMT (UK)
This may be a long shot - does anyone recognise the location(s) in these photos?

Two are on a beach, close to some hills, with a stepped sea defence. The other is in front of a panorama with what looks like a tidal area of water.

These relatives lived in Liverpool so I've assumed it's North Wales. The two places may not be in the same area.

Thank you

Just some ideas from memories of childhood holidays~

The one with the steps could be Llandudno and the one with the mountains looks like Barmouth.

Searched up Barmouth and found this picture, think it looks a little like the third one if you look at the bends of the landscape? Just a possibility  :)

does the link work? sorry if it doesn't

Maybe the steps in the picture with the re-built post that the child is standing on? Also at Barmouth in Wales (sorry if the link doesn't work again)

Think this may be it! (in barmouth)
I searched up ''Barmouth Viewpoint'' in case it was a well-known spot for pictures and this:<img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/3467/3824156342_da91c321ef_b.jpg" alt="Mawddach Estuary from Barmouth Panorama Viewpoint. | Flickr"/>

What do you think?
The way the water has dried out and created the lines makes it look very similar to your picture, and the way it curves around the hills. Now I'm looking at it, I think I can see some of the flowers in the bottom left, like the one in this photo, although not sure. The walk to the view point looks to be called ''Panorama Walk, Barmouth''.

I think so curtainhooks. To the left of the woman’s shoulder you can see a double hump kind of rock which clearly appears in the second panorama photo you posted. A couple of the links don’t work for me.

Great steer Gadget, and good finds curtainhooks.  :)

It looks very similar, hepburn  :)

In 1956, we had a holiday with close family who lived  in Llanelltyd, which is a few miles inland from Barmouth. I was 11.  It rained for the whole fortnight!

The photo of the mountains reminded me of that time  :)

The building in the first photo is the Myn-Y-Mor Hotel.  Compare it here:

The current frontage looks a bit different, but it is noticeably the same building.
