Hello,
Daniel HOGAN was born in Birmingham it is assumed in 1841....no official records have been uncovered. His parents according to the 1841 and 1851 Census were James and Bridget Hogan and he was youngest of 5 children, Susannah born 1831, John 1833, Elizabeth 1835 and Thomas 1838.
One aspect of his life for which there is ample evidence is that he was sentenced at Birmingham to 15 months penal servitude on 14/04/1856, part of which was spent at Parkhurst Prison. He was discharged from there on 13/07/1857.
I can find no further trace of the gentleman. Can anyone help please???
Please Note: : There are several Public Member Trees which are NOT applicable.
Thank you for your help

Thank you for the research and details.......I am extremely grateful.
Everything seems to fall neatly into place with the exception of:
(1): Isaac who seems to disappear: possibly left home by the 1841 Census;
(2): John who appears on both 1841/1851 Census but no birth details.
Sadly, the name Daniel O'Connell HOGAN rings a bell but I can't remember in what context!!!!!

It appears John signed up for the army in 1860 and was discharged 1866. He occupation before enlisting was a brass founder.
Army service record is on findmypast.

I do not have a sub to FindMyPast image but on the off chance could this be a son of Daniel, baptised same place.

Sorry John,
I have researched Ancestry, FindMyPast and FamilySearch but cannot find an 1882 birth for a Daniel HOGAN. Of course, I could have totally missed the entry, not unknown!!!

Apologies, the 1882 details I posted does not say it's a baptism. Wonder what the image does record?

Thank you all for attempting to solve my problem.
Sadly, it still persists and for the moment Daniel HOGAN will be consigned to the pending tray.
