Title: Printer ink cartridges Help please
Post by: mirrin on Sunday 27 November 22 13:59 GMT (UK)
Have an Epsom XP352 printer. Two cartridges required replacing. It accepted one cartridge (they are identical) and rejected the magenta one. Tried taking out and reinserted but doesn’t work.
Is this a fault with printer and should I buy new one.

Many thanks

I had the same problem with my HP printer a few weeks ago & emailed the people I bought the cartridges from to complain. They sent me a replacement the following day& asked me to send the faulty one back, also sending a label for free returns. My printer is working fine now.

Most printer cartridges these days have chips which must be recognised before they will work.
Sometimes the chips on compatible cartridges are faulty and that causes the problem.

mirrin: Are the inks original or compatable inks?
Reason I ask is I have an XP printer that I have just loaded a set of compatable inks and the printer tells me that they are not original inks!
I just select continue and the printer works o'k.
[Tested by doing a full A4 colour print on photo paper]

Just as an after thought, have the inks been installed in thee correct sequence and did you do a print check?

My hp printer refused to print with compatible cartridges, I now have an Epson and that can be temperamental also.  I don’t do a huge amount of printing so just look for best deals on ink.

I don't do too much printing these days, but I got fed up with the inks drying out between uses, banding and carrying out endless and wasteful "head cleaning", which never seemed to work anyway.

Also, whenever I replaced the printer I always seemed to get left with a bunch of unused expensive cartridges that were not compatible witn the new printer even if it was the same brand.

So I invested in a laser printer. It's brilliant. I'd never have another inkjet.

Thank you all for information. I use compatible cartridges and printer reminds me of this, but they are accepted. I will try a new cartridge and hopefully that will solve problem. Some interesting information.
