Hi All. Trying to work out what is written here against Margaeret Devoy - i HAD REDUCED TO EITHER 'Tailoress' or maybe 'Jailoress'....but neither seem to fit what i was expecting.
-
Tailoress - compare the 'T' in her husband's address, Turner Street.
-
I agree definitely Tailoress
-
I'll agree with "Tailoress".
-
Great stuff....thanks everyone. I wasn't sure if that was Turner St either....just didn't look like a T to me :D
Thanks again everyone.
-
Can you use your skills and decipher what it says below Mary Jane Devoy under the date?
-
Looks like "arkean, Down, Ireland." Presumably Ardkeen in County Down?
Queenie :)
-
Thanks Queenie.
Any idea what the date refers to, Marriage date to William Devoy?
-
It's the date and place they were married.
