I know this is a long shot but would anybody be able to improve this photo of my Uncle John at the VE Day celebrations in Stirchley, Birmingham. Many thanks.

Tina, are you able to post the original rather than this one with the AI faces? It might give restorers a better chance of "restoring" the image.

What are Al faces?

It looks like someone has worked on the photo using an Artificial Intelligence app that "enhances" the faces but not the rest of the photo. The results may or may not look like the original faces. It's best to post the original if you have it so that restorers can work on that rather than someone else's effort.

I see, thanks. The original wouldn't post because it's too large a file, i don't know how to reduce it.

I use Apple computers, but others would have a similar function to this: with your image opened on screen, open File; from the dropdown menu choose Export; then on that form against Export As, rename it slightly; where to save it (Desktop), the format (JPEG) and move the Quality slider so that it is less than 500 kb; then press Save. You should then be able to post the result to Rootschat.
Hope this helps.
