Title: Dating Photos
Post by: coachcaptain on Saturday 05 November 22 01:10 GMT (UK)
Hi. Like others here I would like to see if these 3 photos could be dated as near as possible please. I will include the front and back of the images, note that one image has a blank back so no pic of that included. (I can only put up 4 images) The back of pic three has "Victoria cabinet Studios, John Hart" as the photographer. Maybe I can put that up as a seperate post? Thanks in advance.

Ref Pic 1 . Photographer Arthur Griffiths was in business in Armach? Rd (There are different spellings given, including Armagh and Amagh) between 1895 and 1908.
Ref Pics 2 and 3. John Hart was in business in City Rd between 1886 and 1905.

Not much help I realise, but it may help narrow the time frame.

My guess would be between 1900-1915 for all the images.

Pic. 1 is very stylised even for a Sunday best outfit.
It may be a stock photo of a notable person.
The back is typical 1890's however her hat is more associated with the 1900's
so I would suggest later 1890's - early 1900's.
Pic. 2 is mid - late 1890's as is pic. 3.

Thanks Jim1, purlin and Hollander for your replies, it does help with narrowing down the dates of these and will add the info to my family tree. Thanks.
