Looking for any information on when the above photographic studio was trading in Leicester (in the hope that it may help to identify a photograph!).
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks to you both for your replies. My "conundrum" is that I have a photo taken at Heawood Studios which is inscribed on the back to my mother - but she was only born in 1925!

Having looked at the 1921 census – the details which I can't reveal – and then looking at various newspaper articles, I deduce that the original business was run by John William Heawood but the business passed on to his son Thomas Edgar Heawood. There is a newspaper reference from 1930 to the business being in Melton, but perhaps there was also branch in Leicester (and see below)?

BUSINESSMAN DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mr Heawood, Clock House, Thorpe Satchville was proprietor of Heawood and Sons photographers and was known for his photographic coverage of hunt meetings.
During the first world war he served with the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He was seriously injured and disabled and was made prisoner-of-war. After the war he became a partner in his father’s photography business. [continues, but nothing relevant]
