Hi
Looking for info on the fry family of Londonderry/Derry
Catherine Fry nee Simpson was a cousin of my late grandfather Samuel (Sammy) Simpson 1898-1989. Catherine and Samuel’s fathers David and Robert were brothers. Any info on this family would be welcome.
Regards Argyle

Have you checked the Surname Interests Board?
Scroll to the bottom of this page & the link is under TOOLS

Presumedly Catherine was a FRY by marriage, so it is her husband's family that you are interested in?
Where, when, and who did she marry?
This marriage?

James Fry was in the Army and so may not have originally been from Londonderry. His father is noted as deceased (and not named), on the marriage entry,
There was only one Fry family in County Londonderry at 1911 census, but no James.

Thank you
Scotmum and dundee yes this is Catherine’s marriage.
I am more looking to see what happened to Catherine and James…I know they had children…it would be great to make a connection with them… and share any info we all have.
Once again thank you for the look ups you have done.
Regards Argyle😀

By 1921, James Fry seems to have been a Sergeant in the R.I.C., per mention in memorial notice for one of Catherine's brothers.

Thanks for that scotmum,
That would have been for her brother Samuel (Sonnie) Simpson killed in ww1…his name is on the war memorial in Derry..
