Title: 8th Royal Irish Hussars Soldier's Records

Hi,

I have been researching a father & son who were both in the 8th Royal Irish Hussars & both received "Pip", "Squeak" & "Wilfred". Father was RSM Christopher Farrell & son was Sergeant Leonard Bertram Christopher Farrell. I have tried without any success to find out where the soldiers records might be located for them. Any help appreciated.

RSM Christopher Farrell's service records are viewable on both Ancestry and FindMyPast.

It appears that Leonard Farrell's service records have not survived. Around 65% of WW1 army records were destroyed by enemy action in WW2.

There are some PoW records for Leonard B Farrell, 8th Hussars 11432 - captured at Esbicourt 22 March 1918
