Hi,
I have a marriage between William Hitchman and Elizabeth Tilling in Wantage 1783. I have them as the parents of Mary Hitchman born 1796 and possible brother Joseph born 1792 Wantage. Is this the right marriage for the couple ? I can not find any other children so is there another possible marriage in the area between William Hitchman and an Elizabeth?

Thank you Guys! I’ve also made a post about Mary Hitchman some time ago and I’m quite sure to habe the right baptism of Mary 1796 Wantage daughter of William and Elizabeth. https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=855149.9
Robert b. 1807 could also be a brother or maybe there were two couples named William and Elizabeth in Wantage at the time ?

There is a burial for an Elizabeth Hitchman
1 May 1798 Wantage.
Not sure of age, as I can only see a transcription.

So he may have married twice.
-
He may have been married twice. It would make sense because Mary was born in 1796 and Robert 11 years later 1807. Are there any other possible marriage in Berkshire or maybe Wiltshire/Oxfordshire between a William Hitchman and Elizabeth? The marriage 1783 in Wantage is still a possibility

Are there any other possible marriage in Berkshire for William Hitchman and Elizabeth
As per Trish's reply #8 - William Hitchman, widower to Elizabeth Hitchman both of Grove in Wantage. Witnesses were Thomas Hitchman & Joseph Stevens 15-11-1807 Wantage Sts.Peter & Paul.

It says "young".
Around this period there are various descriptions: infant, boy, girl, young, middle-aged, old, very old.
Difficult to judge whether someone who was married in 1783 would be perceived as "young" or "middle-aged" fifteen years later.
