How old was he supposed to be?
What was his occupation?
Was he married? Who was his wife, and who were his parents?

Nothing showing up on http://search.jerripediabmd.net

There is a burial of a Johann Joahim Martin FRUNDS on 13 Aug 1840 at St Helier, but that is the closest I can see.

Allegedly born 1808 Colchester Essex, allegedly died 1856 Channel Is.
Parents are said to be Alured Dodsworth Faunce (1775-1850) & Anna Maria Godard ((1782-1849) but I believe this to be incorrect and am trying to confirm or exclude Martin as a member of this family.
Cannot find Martin other than in 'Geni' ex 'Ancestry' - from 2009 inclusion by one 'Ian Hoyle'.
No other info (e.g. occup., spouse, children, etc.). Thanks to those who have already responded.

There is an Alured Tasker FAUNCE, son of Alured D FAUNCE died 1856 in Quenbeyan, Australia.

Modified to add:
A couple of death notices and an article about the  death (while playing cricket)

"On the 26th April, at Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Alured Tasker Faunce, Esq.,  formerly Captain in her Majesty's 4th (the King's Own) Regiment, eldest son of the late Major General Alured D Faunce, C B"
Tuesday,  Aug. 26, 1856
Publication: Morning Chronicle

He was "in his 48th year" so born c1808.

Have you made your way through General Alured Faunce’s 1850 will?
He does seem to name all his children and he itemises who gets what pieces of silver
I don’t see any mention of a Martin on first glance. But it is very tight script.

Should also have mentioned finding Martin Faunce on MyHeritage trees (apparently lifted from Geni) and subsequently on WikiTree - which is where I'm currently trying to clarify this apparent anomaly.
Thanks for the reference to Alured Tasker Faunce (who appears to be validly included in this family, and whom I'm also researching).
I feel that Martin may be mistakenly shown as a family son (and thus a sibling to Alured Tasker) and am seeking source evidence - either for or against.
Appreciate everyone's input. Stay safe, stay well.

2 sons, 3 daughters - that's all of them according to this notice

Illustrated London News 16 March 1850

Major-General A.D. Faunce C.B.
This gallant officer, whose death is just announced, was second son of Major Thomas Faunce, By Bridget his wife, daughter of E. Nugent Esq of Dublin, and grandson of Thomas Faunce esq of St Margaret's, Rochester, the descendant of a family settled in Kent since the reign of Edward VI.; and now represented, in it's senior branch, by Edmund Barrell Faunce, Esq of Sharsted Court.
General Faunce married Maria, daughter of _____ Goddart, (sic), Esq., and had two sons and three daughters.

They seem to be a family who always put notices in the paper. I think if there was a Martin who died there would be a notice.

Colonel Thomas Faunce died on Guernsey - so there is a C.I. connection

08 February 1890 - The Star - Saint Peter Port, Guernsey, Guernsey

Hello again & a special thank-you to you both (mckha489 & maddys52) for all the info. Yes, I've been through the will (also had that pointed out to me by another WikiTree member, i.e. 'Martin not mentioned in will'). I'm also accessing info. assembled by 'MonaroPioneers' - a local group and one Dr. David Powell who has done major research on Faunce families in Oz, plus of course the online material from biographical dictionaries, newspapers, etc.
Have just paused to read your latest feedback & totally agree. The more I read, the more I suspect that Martin does not seem to belong.
Again my sincere thanks for your interest and your responses.
P.S. Yes, thank you. I had noted that death of Col. Thomas Faunce also, thus my pursuing the C.I. angle. Sad to say there are numerous military Faunce's , manywith the same forenames.
