Hi there,
I am trying to trace the origins of Alexander Dundas. He was born about 1760 in Yorkshire. He married Ann Richardson in 1779 in Wykeham and had their first daughter Elizabeth in the same place and same year.
I can't find any parents for Alexander or any siblings.
I'm assuming with a name like Dundas he could have come from Scotland.
Any help/ideas would be much appreciated.
Thank you so much
Vicky

Perhaps being a little pedantic - but the marriage on 11 January 1779 was at Scalby and both were said to be "of this parish". Baptism was, as stated, at Wykeham.

That's interesting. Thank you. I hadn't noticed that.

No problem, good luck ;)

There is a burial for an Alexander Dundas in Scalby 29 August 1801

So she's quite a bit older than Alexander or have I got his birth year wrong?

Where did you get the birth year from?

I'm not actually sure. I added him to my tree a few years ago and can't remember now.
