Hi
Can anyone please help me?
I've recently seen a family tree which included the birth of Marriah Pearson and also her (Maria) marriage to William Barret around 1810 in Piddington/Horton.
Is this just guess work or are the records available. This has been a brick wall for me for about 20 years.
Thanks people.

Have you contacted the tree owner to check where the info was sourced from?
Have you checked www.familysearch.org
-
To be honest the answer to both questions is no.
1) I wanted to know if anyone other than the tree owner could find it
2) Familysearch is very unreliable.
I searched for the Piddington parish records in the Northamptonshire archives about 15 years ago and didn't find these records, although I didn't search Horton.
While I was at the archives I was told that transcribers from ancestry had been transcribing Piddington PR's a couple of weeks before I arrived, but these records do not seem to be on ancestry.

John Pearson and Mary had Ebenezer 1781 and Mary 1787
Joseph Pearson and Judith had Charlotte 1801

Amos Pearson married Mary Russell by banns on 1 April 1779 at Piddington witness was William Pearson
-
That's great thank you amondg.
Geanet is where i saw the information, i've been doing this for 20 years and have never come across geanet before.
Some peoples trees leave a lot to be desired, people just like to add names.
So you got your information from Freereg and BT's ?
How did you see them, I've got ancestry and findmypast, I would like to see actual documents whenever possible, don't trust transcriptions.
I was part of the North Bucks team rechecking original transcriptions and although the original transcribers did a fantastic job there were still quite a few errors.
Your help was very much appreciated.
-
Freereg transcriptions
The images of the actual parish registers and bishops transcripts are on ancestry.
-
You wouldn't believe how many times I've searched ancestry for these records.
I would still like to find a marriage record for William Barret and Marriah Pearson. Both their boys have the middle name Pearson, so it fits quite nicely, but you can't beat proof.
Thanks for all your help it has helped a lot.

Just in case anybody else adds to this post please don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't reply.
I'm away most of next week, home for 1 or 2 days and then away for another week.
If anyone post I will reply as soon as I can.
Thanks all.

Just seen this post,Borri. I'm descended from John Pearson of Piddington. Don't know if he's from the same family. John m Sarah Addison in 1799. Think his father may also have been named John, possibly a baker & shopkeeper. Haven't come across any of the names in your post, but then don't know very much about my Pearsons.

Cant seem to find burials for John/Sarah to confirm their ages.
Mary Ann Pearson 1805 was likely the witness to the 19 Feb 1822 Marriage of Richard.
She married GEORGE Pearson 04 Nov 1822
1851 she is born c 1804 St Giles
-
Thanks,Trish. Richard Addison Pearson was my great great grandfather.
-
Been having another look at my Pearsons & Richard's sister Mary Ann b 1805 was baptised in Piddington. Not impossible for her to have been born in London, but unlikely I would have thought. Also, she marries another Pearson - wonder where George fits into all of this?
-
Not sure what you mean by Mary Ann 1805 born London?
1851 Census Mary A Pearson is born c 1804 St Gilles, Northamptonshire (as transcibed Anc)
1861 she is under Mary A Weasson c 1802 Northamptonshire

Aha - thanks,Trish.Your first reply said St.Giles (one l) & I jumped to conclusions, which of course you should never do,especially where genealogy is concerned !
-
Yes true, but sorry I confused you (I just thought you would check out the census)
All good, Trish :)
-
Going back to your original question, you say both boys have a middle name of Pearson.
I'm not finding that. Piddington registers (Oxfordshire)
Sarah bap 15 September 1811 - William and Marria
Peace bap 14 February 1813 - William and Mary (married Richard Cully 25 Feb 1833)
Thomas bap 15 January 1815 - William and Mary
William bap 31 October 1819 - William and Mary
-
HI among,
Take it you're replying to Borri & not me,but just to say my Pearsons are from Piddington,Northants, not Piddington Oxfordshire & I believe Borri's are too.
-
You are correct, it is the Northamptonshire Piddington. Sorry for the slow reply but for some reason all notifications have gone to my old email.
Thanks for looking everyone.
Have you done a DNA test beetles ?
-
Tabitha, daughter of Peter & Mary PEARSON is an ancestor of mine. My DNA test results are on Ancestry, as are my brother's and first cousin's. If anyone has matched it would be great to hear from you.
-
Hi Penholder
What name would your DNA be under on Ancestry ?
I tried to PM you, but I can't see how to do it on here
-
PM is the little scroll under the photo of the cats :)
Its green when person is online and plain when not.
-
Thank you Trish, I looked everywhere (almost) I've used it before, many years ago, I'm sure it's moved.
