Hi, Looks like Sailor.
Look for the Census before and after the year of marriage, it may be Sailor or Tailor.

Tonnage Master.
-
certainly ___age master
Not sure about it starting with a T. The start of Tailor is a very different shape.

Isn't it Sailor?
-
S at start of Spinster made me think it was Tailor

I stand corrected. It seems he was in fact a Tailor

Thanks for all suggestions so far. Its the final column "Rank and Profession of Father" that I'm interested in. The father is John Wilson. Joseph Wilson, the son and groom in this marriage was indeed a tailor.

Innage Master would be my best guess
(had never heard of the word before)

It looks like tonnage master to me.
Here is a random clip of one; looks like they weighed the cargo for toll purposes?
