Hi, Looks like Sailor.
Look for the Census before and after the year of marriage, it may be Sailor or Tailor.

I stand corrected. It seems he was in fact a Tailor

Thanks for all suggestions so far. Its the final column "Rank and Profession of Father" that I'm interested in. The father is John Wilson. Joseph Wilson, the son and groom in this marriage was indeed a tailor.

It looks like tonnage master to me.
