Title: Magenta Street - Leicester
Post by: Rob - Leicester on Sunday 28 August 22 16:58 BST (UK)
Does anybody know where Magenta Street was in Leicester? I have it as an address in the 1921 Census. I can see that it existed in the 1931 Electoral Register.

Many thanks.

Somewhere in Woodgate.

Here's a photo of numbers 1-9: https://specialcollections.le.ac.uk/digital/collection/p15407coll5/id/469/

Here it is on a side by side map. Off Alice street:

Thank You ShaunJ that's wonderful!

My g-g-grandmother lived at No 9 in 1921. That's probably not her car though! On my old map of Leicester it has Alice Street but no street name is printed over the little bit sticking off it.

That side-by-side map is excellent for seeing just how much things have changed.

Again - thanks.
