Looking for any info on my great grandfather’s father
Bernard McDonnell b 1848 Navan he marrried Mary Caffrey.
I know he’s father was called Michael McDonnell and he lived in Kells ( I think) he died in 1872 in Navan.
Any help finding Michael would be fantastic.

Just for others reading-
Marriage - 4 June 1874
Brien [sic] McDonnell to Mary Caffrey - Bryan/Brian and Bernard are interchangeable.

Thanks, I have this marriage licence, what I’d really love if possible is to find out who he’s parents were, I know his father was Michael and he lived in Meath , probably Navan

His mother was Maria/Mary and yes they lived in Kells.

Number 189
Neither the church or civil cert make any mention of his father being dead.
The only Michael McDonnell death I saw registered in Navan in 1872 was a 22 year old bachelor.
Why do you think the father died in 1872?
-
Oh wow thank you, so his parents were Michael & Maria , could you find out what her maiden name is ?
Not sure where I got 1872 from
-
You say he was born Navan but his address on the marriage is Kells as is his parents.
You could look through the Kells and Navan parish records but be careful in case there is more than one couple called Michael and Maria/ Mary.

There is a street name on the Civil Cert but it's difficult to read.

Might it be Modlin? Street Kells, Sinann which is spelt Maudlin on the Kells maps of the 20th century.
