Are you just looking for Mary ? who married Michael Hayes and perhaps the Doyles going back?

Where did they move to in Waterford?
Do you have the various records from https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

There are deaths for elderly Hayes but they don’t quite fit with the information you have for Michael and Mary so a place would help.

I thought I would try the most recent, in order to work back so here is Patrick Hayes/Bridget McDonald’s marriage.

James Hayes and Catherine Kehoe married 1872 in Bree which would presumably be the bride’s parish.

James’ residence is Garranstackle - close by. He is a labourer so not necessarily from there.

I just amended that and see KG’s post now  :)

Where did Michael and Mary die?

You say you have all the family in Waterford.
Are the family in Ballyhoge, Wexford in 1901 part of your  family?
Were there any other Hayes children?

Which cemetery in Enniscorthy?

I think Garranstackle where James was residing is also in Bree parish. Records are here and
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0582

Unfortunately, the marriage record gives no further information.
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000634028#page/65/mode/1up

If the Hayes were of that parish, you should be able to find a baptism there. However, Ancestry and FindmyPast have indexes and I can’t see one.

There is an Ellen Hayes, sponsor to Patrick in 1877

May be worth noting in case she is a close relative

Trying to find where the family were living.

You have now mentioned a son John. What information do you have for him please?
Is he in 1901 census?
Were there other siblings besides James and John?
When was the stone erected?

Sometimes headstones are erected years after the deaths and may not always be accurate.

You have given great detail re James and family going on from there and that is not needed at the moment.

Ok - thanks. Was there a place of residence for his parents on the parish record? Sometimes it is included.

I am really sorry - not getting anywhere at all.

I have had to stop with my research for similar reasons - lack of earlier records.

I hope someone can think of other avenues to try or things we have omitted.

OP, who make the headstone transcription? You, or someone else?
Easy to read? Numbers and dates clear?
I think it improbable that both members of a married couple would live to their 90s in the 1890s. Not impossible of course, just unlikely.

Do you have a photo you can post?

As an aside, I would hardly say that someone buried in Galbally was in Enniscorthy!

An oddity is that this Galbally graveyard is not listed on the local parish site, where they have transcribed parish cemetery inscriptions.  Must be the one at the Catholic church of St. John the Baptist, commonly called Galbally Church

The 1872 marriage of James Hayes and Catherine Kehoe says that his father, Michael, was a farmer.
If this is true, he was not from Garranstackle, as there was no Hayes listed there in Griffith's Valuation. Nearest candidate is the Michael Hayes in Barmoney, also Bree. (I initially assumed it would be parish of Glynn - might be worth looking there)

Barmoney was part of the civil parish of Whitechurch, and is close to Glynn. I would look in the Glynn parish records.
