Hi all I am from the DEA/O'Dea family and trying to find those or at least information of or about those related to Patrick O'Dea 1876-1935 who Married Margaret Kane (1878-1919) and later on married Edith Coulston.
Patrick and Margaret had 9 children and Patrick and Edith had 3 children. We need some information on Margaret's children like pictures or if someone is there descendant. We're missing dates and Information.

Hello and welcome to Rootschat?
You have posted your query on the Ireland, County Clare board. Was this an error?
I see there are several published trees, one perhaps yours, which have documentation and the family are from Falkirk, Scotland.
I am posting this just to avoid unnecessary searching in Ireland.
If you want your query to be moved, you can just ask a moderator to do so.
You will see ‘report to moderator’ at the foot of your message.
Best wishes :)

Hi, I have been looking at Co Clare recently for distant genealogy connections and in the areas around and either side of the River Fergus and Ennis (Ballynacally, Lissycasey, Newmarket on Fergus etc etc) I have seen lots of O’Dea entries, along with McNamara, Lynch, O’Neill etc. Perhaps you could try there. Good Luck.

Hi Heyward
It's not a mistake. My family are Scottish O'Dea who originally came from Ireland in the 1850's. We're trying to find out about the Irish side. We get to Thomas O'Dea and Bridget Gavin who were born in Ireland in the 1850's and move to Scotland before having children there. We're trying to find Thomas O'Deas parents who are from Ireland and the rest of there tree.
Regards
Kirsty Dea

Ok thanks Kirsty. That’s great.
As there was no mention of Thomas in your first post and you were asking about later family members, it wasn’t quite clear.
Did Thomas and Bridget come from Clare?
Did they marry in Ireland or Scotland?

I just had a look and can only see transcripts of censuses.
Is this your family in Falkirk in 1881?
Thomas O’ Dea, 24 yrs b Co Mayo, Ireland
Bridget O’ Dea 23 yrs b Falkirk
Patrick O’Dea 5 yrs b Falkirk
John O’Dea 3 yrs b Falkirk
I think Scottish records show more information than English ones so do you have Births, Marruage and death details.
I see Scotlands People has the civil marriage details - 1875. You should be able to get further details from that.

There are several published trees as mentioned earlier. I have seen the marriage details one, and his parents look to be Patrick O’ Dea and Catherine ‘Marlye’ (or similar).
There are some baptisms in Burriscarra parish https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1048
Here is one for Thomas April 6th 1856 - right hand page ‘Culintra’
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632010#page/142/mode/1up
There are others
Peter 7th May 1858 mother’s name is shown on this one ‘Mailly’.
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632010#page/151/mode/1up
Also Mary 6th January 1855
If I recall the tree I was looking at had this information as a possible baptism.
There is also a marriage - December 1852 Patt Dea to Catherine Mally
Residence Culintragh.
Possibly this townland

This is a useful,site, Kirsty. https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/
Civil registration did not begin though until 1864 so you are looking at later births if there are any for your people.
Possibilities here:
Richard 1866
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1866/03537/2301814.pdf
James 1874
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1874/03144/2153066.pdf
Perhaps Catherine? with son Michael in 1901 - same place
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Mayo/Killavally/Cullentragh/1584971/
You could follow up for death of Pat and marriage of Michael if you think they are your family.
