Hello
I am interested in William Kestell c1619-1660 who married Zenobia Uren in 1637. Williams supposed parents are John Kestell 1601-1659 and Jone Pollard 1602-1628, they married 1626, what concerns me is this means William was born 7 years before his parents married , at Constantine, whereas the family all came from Egloshayle which is quite far apart, William would be 18 yeats old when he married Zenobia.
i have found a William born 1610 at Egloshayle to father John, there is a marriage for John Kestill to Jayese Blake in 1604 Egloshayle if thats the william who married Zenobia he would be 27 years old, more reasonable in my mind. does anyone have any thoughts ?

baptism Wendron, same parish as marriage, 12 July 1618 Zenobia daughter of Henry Uren

Possible baptism in Stithians, rather closer than Egloshayle
25 Dec 1610 William son of Wm Kessell

But the first son baptised to William after the 1637 marriage is named Roger, so William may be the son of a Roger.
First daughter, Jane, is named for Zenobia's mother Joanna

Hello.... thank you for your reply and all that information, its a great point about Roger, he could well be named after his grandfather, my Scottish ancestors followed that naming process for generations and has been very helpful and useful when stuck.
Greatly appreciate your help.
