Would a kind soul with access to the 1921 census do a look up for me?
Looking for a Rose Smith born 6th May 1917 in Ipswich. I have her on the 1939 register and what I think is her birth record but as it’s a common name I’m not 100%. Thanks!

Hi George52
You can look it up yourself as no one has free access to the 1921 even if we have an FindMyPast subscription. It costs everybody and you don't need a subscription. . You can perhaps narrow down your search by hovering on the image you've found (that bit is free) and see who else is living in that household if anyone. It's minimal info but sometimes it helps.
Those of us who have bought images would suggest you buy the image when you find a likely one and not the transcription as there are transcription errors it's been found.

Ah, I hadn’t realised that! Thanks for the info and guidance, much appreciated.

Looking at the 1939 record her surname has been crossed out and the name Curtis, recorded above.
Possible marriage to Victor E Curtis in 1943.

Yep seen that. It’s her birth parents I’m struggling with.

Remember the 1939 Register was Completed by a Visiting Enumerator not the Householder
In my Experience the Birthdates Recorded on the 1939 Register are only 60% Correct
Be Careful to believe the Date shown.
-
Try Rosie Smith in the 1921 register in Bosmere

Thanks everyone for input.

If the 1939 entry is correct then this could well be her death record
Rose Curtis
Date of Birth 6 May 1917 Died Feb 1998 Ipswich Suffolk
