Go to electric Scotland and search for,
The 71st Regiment of Foot ( Highland light Infantry)
All you`ll need is there.
By the way are you searching for a particular soldier?
as I have some musters for that regiment.
Hope I helped

I know this is an old thread...but just in case...
My relative is Huntley Bacon, born 1843, and had been a captain in the 71st foot regiment.
I have no idea as to when he was in the regiment, his service record and or anything else much about him.
On a personal level I know he was the first husband of Laura Mary Stapylton, whom he married on 19/12/1882. They had one child, Vera Marguerite Bacon, born in 1883. Huntley Bacon died 9/6/1897.
Laura remarried a year later.
If anyone can point me in the right direction for information on Huntley bacon, I'de appreciate i.
