Title: Quarry Death/ Blackhills quarry in Cruden
Post by: Kags on Sunday 24 July 22 10:09 BST (UK)
Hi I am trying to find information regarding a death at The Great North of Scotland Granite Company’s  Quarry Blackhills near Cove/Cruden 5th June 1905 which was also called Blackhills and now Leith’s Quarry. A relative Alexander Masson Cow/e was hit by falling rocks and knocked to the bottom of the quarry and killed; I can’t find a related newspaper article and don’t know of a register for accidents in Aberdeenshire quarries. Any help is appreciated.

Looking in the newspapers on FindMyPast (same as BNA), I have found 9 reports of the incident and the subsequent inquest. Search terms were Quarry and Blackhills.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I couldn’t find him by name or by using The Great North of Scotland Granite Co. Now I need to get myself a subscription to see the articles. Thank you again Shaun
