Having problems with some words in this note. Hope someone can help.
Note attached to will crossed through but not crossed out.

April the 23 1697
borrowed [] of my Sonn Richard [] full summ of
Twenty pounds and for [] for [] his money
I William Green doo order [     ]
pay the twenty pounds out of my personal Estate
upon condition I doo not [  ] the debt
discharged if neither I nor my personal Estate
will not discharg the debt I doo order my Sonn

I agree with 'then'. I think it is 'doe' not 'doo'.

For the same reason he borrowed money off anyone -- he was in need of extra cash and the son had some to spare

The clause will just ensure that the son gets his £20 back before any other legacies are paid out.
