Hi,
Sorry, bit like everyone else - I'm trying to decipher a birth certificate (My Grannies) and having a wee bit of trouble.
I ordered a copy of the certificate from the Civil Registration Office in Dublin but it is very feint.
I can see the first column is: May Firth 1899 (Then something not sure of)
2nd Column is Annie
3rd is Patrick Smith (Something I'm not sure of)
4th is Mary Smith formerly McKenna
6th Possibly Labourer
7th is Patrick Smith X Mark, Father then Something
Then Mary Smith again and can't make out the registrar (Not too important)
Many thanks if you can work it out

You're a star Shaun - Thank You
I was just going through some of the Streets in Cavan and seen Tievenanass but wasn't sure - you've put my mind at rest that I'm now looking at the right one,
Again - You're a star, thank you :)
Also, just been looking at the 2 links you gave me and they are excellent. Thanks again, could not be happier right now

You've got the essentials. But the second to last column is date registered, May ninth (not Mary Smith again). And I think the registrar is B. McSaul. (Bernard, from the bottom of the record on irishgenealogy.ie.)

Might it be McCaul.
