Title: Tryinf to find info. On Mgt. MacPherson
Post by: unknownmale on Saturday 09 July 22 21:35 BST (UK)
Hi, trying to find information on the above named lady, born 6th. May 1896, to Peter Macpherson 1865-1915 and Sarah Campbell. She was born no. 82 King Street Govan. Tried Scot/people, for a marriage etc, but know knowledge of a surname. I think I know she had a daughter Maureen, no luck with her birth either. Any help guidance greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Was Margaret definitely born in 1896?

I only ask because there is this death:

MARGARET MCALLI. MCPHERSON
Age 0
Mother's maiden name CAMPBELL
1895
646/2 336
Govan

I can't easily see the family so far on the 1901 census to check whether Margaret is on the family listing.

Hi MonicaL,

Gosh what gem you are and so clever, we searched for hours and hours. You have I believe answered the conundrum. Yes Mgt. MacP. was born 6/5/1896 KIng st. Govan. My wife whose relatives these are was convinced it was Mgt. McAllister MacP. So it looks like they lost Mgt. and named the 96 Mgt. the same although no middle name on her birth cert. I cannot find that death on Scot/p. also, your, Ahh, moment is spot on, my wife has confirmed that`s the family. Thank your ever so much. What a wonderful crowd of folks on here. Again thanks so much. Can I be cheeky ask where you found the 95 death of Mgt.

What general info. do you have on Margaret?

Was she spoken of by others, if so, what was mentioned & when were those people alive?

When was Margaret last known to be alive (approx)?

When was possible daughter born (approx)?

Where was she living when last known to be alive/birth of her daughter?

Was she witness to any of her siblings' marriages or informant on any of her parents' deaths?

Dates/years are very important in narrowing down other events e.g. marriages & deaths.

Annie

Address: Pier House, Kilamallie, Argyll
You need to view the original document at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk to find out exactly where this is/was. Kilmallie is a large and extensive parish, including Fort William among other places, and unfortunately the various web sites that have census transcriptions tend just to list the parish and omit the name of the actual place in the parish where the address is/was.

It might be at the end of the Caledonian Canal, but then again it might be in Fort William itself, or some other pier in the parish of Kilmallie.
