Hi, I have found a household record of my Great Grandfather in Sweden. There are some notes annotated to his name and I wondered if anyone could help with translation. I have tried google translate but I havent got very far.
Many Thanks

Hi Sue
If you can post the link I'll gladly do it for you.

Hi Ian,
Thankyou for replying. I attach the linke below. My Gt Grandfather is the son Jonas Ludvig. I am trying to translate the small text next to his name and also all the text in the far right hand column.
I do not think that Elin was his mother as when he applied for British naturalisation during World War 1 he stated his mothers name was Christine Neilson. I am hoping that this annotation to his name confirms my suspicions.

... also all the text in the far right hand column.
Do you mean the text on top of the right page?
This is a note about the person on line 11, so nothing to do with your Jonas.

I haven't managed to decipher the text yet but here is his birth record:

His mother is Kerstin Nilsdotter.

In 1891 Jonas Ludvig left for Stockholm and between 1891-1898 his family left for USA:

The text reads "i mannens första äkt" = from the man's first marriage.

Abram's 2nd marriage:

Hi Ian and Zefiro,
Thank you for all your help. The links to his birth are an added bonus as I had not been able to find that either.
This confirms that Elin was not his mother, which I had suspected.
Thankyou once again.

Hi again,
Just a quick question.
I notice that the links are from a website called riksarkivet, is this a better website to use than
Arkivdigital. As you can probably tell, I am new to researching my Swedish ancestors and would like to use the most comprehensive website.
Many Thanks
Sue :) ;)

Hi and you're welcome.
Arkivdigital is searchable and Riksarkivet isn't. Also Arkivdigital has more records but isn't free.

Hi Ian,
Thankyou for that.
It is interesting that you found him going to America as he ended up in England. I have a letter from his brother Sven and his father from America but I didnt know that he was there as well.
Thank you for all your help.

I have to add that you can actually search the census records at Riksarkivet.

Jonas didn't go to America. All his siblings seemed to have though.

Ok, my misunderstanding, thankyou for clarifying that.
