Hi, can anyone help me find James Edgar Allchorne's final resting place? I know he died in Farnborough hospital and lived in Halstead Kent when he died in 1959, I have searched on ancestry, find my past, find a grave and deceased online with no luck... banging my head on the wall now.
I dont know the area as i live in Nottingham so any suggestions would be great thank you in advance

Hi
Your best off going to your main central library. They keep all records there. Or you could contact the church nearest to where he live and died, they could possibly hold a record as well.

Bromley is the registration district, where his death was reported.

Bromley Council will search their records for a £44 fee.

Have you tried looking for a death announcement in a local newspaper. They can mention where the interment was to take place.

The website of Halstead Church has contact details, including an email address. If you are sure he was living in Halstead, he may have been buried there.
Don't expect an immediate response! Parish clergy are busy and may not have much admin support. (From the mother of a part-time benefice administrator.)

Farnborough Hospital (now Princess Royal) is now in the London Borough of Bromley. Halstead now comes under Sevenoaks Council. Perhaps try the Sevenoaks cemeteries if no luck with Halstead church.

Hi Teresa.
We had same problem with a relative, we went to the undertaker who was extremely helpful.Turned out she was buried with her mum and sister.
Good luck!
