Yes, it is the Dorrington/Thomason family.

Have posted a number of posts re my search for the family of John Dorrington without success.  I have a lot of information on the family post 1885 but nothing before 1885 when the elusive John Dorrington was married.
Bit of a long shot but JD may have been living with a relative in Taylor Lane in 1885 when he got married.  (JD born Whittlesey in 1852.)

Have you got the house number from the marriage certificate?

No census between 1881-1885 so you would have to look at electoral registers.  As you don't have any house number - if Dorrington wasn't in Taylors Lane when the ER was compiled - there is no way you would be able to identify the right house unless there was another Dorrington living there

no, not got house number.
Were there Electoral Registers in 1885 and are they accessible on line?   Would Herts Archives be able to help?

There is a newspaper snippet - 4th June 1886 Herts and Cambs Reporter
It was a theft - the property of John Dorrington, of Taylor’s Lane.
So he was living there after marriage.

Anyone able to access the Electoral Registers for Taylor Lane Hitchen for 1885-87 period - hoping to find who was living with the elusive John Dorrington at that time. (House number not known.)

(Contacted Hertford Archives and they do hold the Registers for this period.)    Thanks.

Hi

I live in Hitchin, don't know of a Taylors Lane, but there is a small row of cottages called Taylors Cottages which runs off Oughtonhead Way.
