George Home, a clerk in chancery, died in Edinburgh in 1846. If correct he would have been 60 or thereabouts.
We have him in 1841 Census in Broughton St, Edinburgh. According to an old family tree he died c1846 - if true where would he buried? Any thoughts welcomed.
thanks

George Home 9.5.1846 aged 59 - Edinburgh
As you know - his address in 1841 was 7 Broughton Place Edinburgh St Cuthberts occ writer

Thanks Carole
I've also just found out there is a new set of records on Ancestry for Edinburgh burials . Maybe he is in there too!
-
1841 occ is transcribed as "writer" I would have expected it to be more specific if he was a clerk in chancery.

Sadly, the place of burial is not shown on Scotlandspeople. Wait a minute you mention ST Cuthberts - is this a parish church?
-
Possibly - but it was the area in which they were living in 1841.
-
Thanks again.
I will maybe get sight of any entry in Ancestry for his burial - some day. :) :)

It's one of the parishes in the City of Edinburgh, and there is a St Cuthbert's Parish Kirk which has a burial ground.
There is a burial record on Scotland's People of George Home, aged 59, on 9 May 1846 in Edinburgh parish.
If he is in the records at Scotland's People the same information may turn up as a copy on Ancestry. But Ancestry won't have information that isn't in the original document at SP.
