There are collectors of such items so I’m sure you will find lots of information online.

If you know anything about the history of the clock it might help date it. For example, has it been passed down the family or was it purchased new by your grandparents?

Keep in mind that sometimes the clock “workings” were made by one maker and put into the case of another.

Post a photo of it here and we can try to help. Have a look inside for any marks and take photos of those as well.

Is the clock in working order?

Hi Ruskie,

I don't have much family history on this clock, but my mom said it was my grandparent's clock with not any mention of the clock being handed down. I suspect it may have been given to my grandparents as a gift for their wedding in 1925 or 26. I remember them being very protective of the clock when I visited them as a boy - they both passed when I was about 10 yrs old.

Might be able to guess a rough date range by the style.  :)

Look forward to seeing a photo of it.

If it works and you have the key that will be a bonus. If not, they are (usually) fixable, but the cost to  repair may be more than the value of the clock. If it is of sentimental value then it might be worth doing especially if the exterior of the clock is in good condition (and if you like it).  :)
