I have this family photo of my grandaunts and cant workout when it was taken
I guess late 1800s but would like some help clarifying it also if any restoration can be done to really sharpen it up that would be great

I believe that this is an 1880s image. Coincidentally, I grew up in Hull and my Maternal Grandfather was a Capes!

Hi, Ian. Any chance of a better scan? This one is really at too low a resolution for restorers to produce a good, sharp result for you (without artificially making up facial features).

I agree with Carol re date - classic 1880s clothes - and with Peter re size.
I've done a quick clarification in the meantime so that you may be able to identify some of them.
Gadget
Add - the second lady, left, front row, could be pregnant as she might have what could be an expandable piece across her tummy.

Hi all
Many thanks for the date c1880s
Unfortunately I don't have a better scan as this was passed on to me via email
also the pregnancy suggestion.
thanks for all your help

This one has more clarity and contrast added to the faces. The one who might be pregnant has a little too much damage on her face to get a good likeness.

ne from me. I've tried to make it as clear as I can.
