last part is. no medical attendant.

This looks to me to be an SP (scotlandspeople) DC?

Have you tried inverting it & adjusting the contrast?

Can you post a snip with surrounding text for letter comparison?

I agree with Kay.

The initial of the 1st word is very like the 'A' in Attendant & both entries died of the same thing.

I've seen many DCs with 'No Medical Attendant', very sad but it's how it was then  :(

I think it’s more precisely “age & infirmity” - a slightly more official form of “he died of old age”.
