Help please
Beginner to research etc
Have been looking for my grandfather ( seperated from his family ,us when my mother was young ) in military search , family was always told he was a Regimental sergeant major i have his service number (was on grandmothers death certificate )

There are very few post 1920 military records available online. You would have to apply to the MoD for a copy of his army records if you are interested in his military career (£30 and a long wait).

The GRO does not have a middle name for him in 1907 but there is a death in 1984, Surrey for a Harold Charles Luckhurst, born 3rd Jan 1907.

Wifes name was Florence Gustard .
Sure he didn't have a middle name and have Date of death as 1979.

Florence died in 1961, Durham? A Harold C Luckhurst married in Aldershot, 1971. Where did you get the 1979 death from?

Yes he lived Aldershot , so sounds like he did remarry then.

He was a Sergeant in the Royal Artillery in 1943 when his mother died if I have the right person, he was one of the pallbearers.

FindMyPast has a newspaper article from the Sevenoaks Chronicle and Kentish Advertiser dated 12 Nov 1943 about her funeral, it says amongst other things that the pallbearers were 4 of her sons and 2 sons-in-law.
