Looking for some help locating Mary Ann Booth after 1861. She was baptised on 19th July1822 in Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire. Her parents were Peter Booth, a surgeon and apothecary, and Mary. Both parents died in 1844. In 1841 and 1851 she is in Chapel-en-le-Frith: in 1841 with her parents and sister and in 1851, her brother, Byron Booth, was head of the household. He was at medical school in 1841.
In 1861, Mary Ann is in the household of her now married sister, Martha Elizabeth Simpson. They are living at Bollington House, Nether Alderley, Cheshire. The reference is RG9, 2587, 12, 18, 512994. Mary Ann is single. She was described as a "landed proprietor".
Their brother, Byron Booth, is in Street Lane, Alderley Edge, Cheshire with his family in 1861. He is the village surgeon/doctor. The reference is RG9, 2587, 81, 1, 542994.
Mary Ann is not with either sibling in the later censuses. Byron dies in 1877 and Martha Elizabeth in 1892.
Thanks :)

Just a little bit more information to add. Byron Booth, her brother, made his will in February 1871 and he only made provision for his wife and three daughters with his two nephews, Byron and Walter Simpson as executors. I would have expected him to make provision for an unmarried sister but she isn't mentioned. ???

From the 1861 Census Mary Ann has an income so her Brother may have not needed to leave her money.
-
She was only 39 in 1861 - have you checked any of the Mary A Booth marriages in Cheshire between 1861-1871
If she married whilst living in Nether Alderley - the registration district would be Macclesfield

Thank you. Yes that's a really good point.

Yes I have checked the marriages but unless I have missed anything I can't see anything that might be relevant. The most likely churches are Chorley St Phillip (where Byron's daughter, also Mary Ann, married Eli Crew) and Chapel-en-le-Frith St Thomas a Becket (where her sister married Robert Simpson).
Although there are two marriages at Macclesfield St Paul in 1872 which I should check, one to Edward Holden and the other to William Speakman.
-
If she married in 1872 - you would be able to find her as Booth on the 1871 census. As she is not found in 1871 - if she did marry it would have to be between 1861-1871

The deaths of her parents, Mary Booth, and Peter Booth, are in the newspapers in 1844.
Martha Elizabeth's marriage to Robert Simpson in 1848 is as well (daughter of the late Peter Booth, Esq.)
Byron's marriage in 1855 can be found. Byron Booth, Esq., of Alderley, surgeon, only son of Peter Booth, Esq., late of Chapel-en-le-Frith, surgeon.
There is also a death notice for him.
You would think there might be something similar for Mary Ann? :-\

Yes Byron had a surgeon’s position in Macclesfield but had to resign not long after he was appointed due to the sudden death of his mother which had affected his father very badly and he passed away not long afterwards.

Thank you so much for finding her. I have been going around in circles with this one for a few weeks. Really appreciate your help. :)

I have a relative who is seen in 1851 with his mum and siblings and then is missing until 1906 when he is buried with his sister and her family.
