Title: Is there any way to paint from Ancestry onto DNA Painter?
Post by: Catservant on Sunday 10 April 22 09:55 BST (UK)
I have a new Ancestry match who I know shares a common Scottish ancestor with me. I would love to map her onto DNA Painter as she is the only person I’ve come across who I know matches me purely on that line.
I messaged her and mentioned how she could get a Gedmatch number, but didn’t want to be pushy so left it at that.
Is there any way I can transfer her Ancestry info so I can put it on DNA Painter?

I don't think there is in Ancestry as I think you are referring to a chromosome comparison facility. Ancestry seem adamant about not introducing  this.

My Heritage and Gedmatch  seem to be the most popular sites for this. I've used both. I think there is also the 'Leeds method' , similar to Painter ?, but I've not used it.

Others might have other recommendations.

Add - this is assuming that you can persuade her to give you access to her results.

Have you got any close shared matches that you might investigate?
