Title: Look up request if I may ?
Post by: TheIrishDescendant on Thursday 24 March 22 01:52 GMT (UK)
Hi all

I am looking for someone who may have a copy of the parish buriel register for felkirk cemetery just out if Shafton in barnsley.

I am trying to locate the plot of my great aunty Rose Dennison. She was born in Ireland in 1872 and died in 1909 in Shafton.

I have contacted West Yorkshire archive but they are closed at the moment,

I have also been to the grave yard and tried to look around but with no luck.

Thank you in advance you help will be much appreciated:)

Hi,
Is the cemetery by St. Peter’s church or is it a different one?
I know that some churches, for practical purposes, will have a plan of their cemeteries even if their historic records are elsewhere.
Perhaps contacting the church officials may be an option as the archives are unavailable.

Just adding the link to the one John mentioned.  It may be worth contacting the person who entered it in the hope that they know where the grave is and have not. just posted the information from their own records

Hi all thank you for your reply yes that is her she was from tullamore. I have contacted the church since I posted and the father is trying to dig out some records with the buriel index in from around that time. It turns out the church is trying to get the churchyard back up and running as it is pretty run down and overgrown so my contact has sort of set a stepping stone to get it cleared which is amazing. Thank you again for your help guys
