Title: still searching for Annie Moore, Gosberton, 1856.
Post by: Eilleen on Wednesday 23 March 22 11:08 GMT (UK)
Many Many years ago I had so much help on here to find information on My Great Grandma Annie Exton ( nee Moore )
I have lots and lots from Her Marriage cert, to census from 1881 to 1911, and Her death cert in Lincoln in 1927.
every piece off paper she states , born in Gosberton, Lincolnshire,  ::)
at one point she was thought to be connected to John Gaunt ( step Father ) in Gosberton ,
that does not pan out , ? He married Mary Moore , a widower in 1851,  so My Annie would have had the surname Gaunt , not Moore , ok, will stop that now, so I do not bore everyone.
my quest for the last 10 years ?  has been to find proof of Annie Moore's presence in Gosberton during Her birth,  i.e baptism ? on Marriage cert she says Her Father is William Moore, a agricultural laborer,  what resources are available for Me to look at , reguarding baptisms for that time and area. she is not on FREEBMD either ? I am waiting to see the 1921 census to see if she still puts Gosberton as birth  ;D ;D

The census was 1921, not 1922, and is available on Findmypast.

Anyone good at maths  ???  what would be the best bet for Her birth,
going by the following.

marriage cert , 7th June 1875-- says she is 20.

1881 census, -- says She is 23.
1891 census,---------------  32
1901  census --------------- 44
1911  census ---------------52
2021  census ------born 1854
death cert 21st Oct 1927,   aged 71 years, ( given by Her son I think )

John Gaunt married Elizabeth Moore, nee Toyne, rather than Mary, in 1851.

1861
John Gaunt Head 68 1793 Agricultural labourer Lincolnshire
Elizabeth Gaunt Wife 48 1813 Laundress Hagworthingham, Lincolnshire
John J Moore Son in law 18 1843 Agricultural labourer Gosberton, Lincolnshire
Mary Ann Moore Daughter in law (presume step) 22 1839 Domestic servant Lincolnshire
Caroline Gaunt Daughter - Female 7 1854 Scholar Gosberton, Lincolnshire
Samuel H (A) Moore Grandson - Male 0 1861 - Gosberton, Lincolnshire (died 1863)

Elizabeth had been married to Samuel Moore

MOORE, SAMUEL  ALLEN     -  no mmn

Samuel was probably the son of Mary Ann. Annie also?

DCB.

yes sorry I put the wrong female name down,

but My Gteat Grandma was born way after they were married .

so Her name would have een Gaunt not Moore , or at least that was the way I looked at it ,
