Title: All Saints church grave yard burials removal to Philips Park Cemetery
Post by: cemetery1 on Tuesday 22 March 22 07:36 GMT (UK)
In early 1960s bodies were moved from All Saints grave yard in Newton Heath to Philips Park Cemetery.
Does anyone know where about in Philips Park Cemetery they were laid to rest?

There are a few online articles which mention it but there seems to be a contact here

In that case it seems a difficult task. Did you contact Blackley Crematorium?

There will be cemetery plans e.g. http://www.mbaird.mlfhs.org.uk/cemplans/philpcem.html

Perhaps Manchester Family History Society?
https://mlfhs.uk/

There is a Friends of Philips Park Cemetery on Facebook  :-\

Many thanks, she might be difficult to find ,on one census she has a false name and her daughter refused to change  her surname to a new
stepfather ‘s! Whilst my grandfather did change his.
I expect though she would be buried under her second husband’s name although to say they were “ estranged “ is putting it mildly!
Thanks again, I will have lots of interest from that.

Babies’ graves in Philip’s Park Cemetery, were bulldozed even after reassurance they would be treated with every respect .
My paternal great grandmother was buried at All Saints ,however her record is not included in those recorded by volunteers which start at C, her’s was A.
A neglected cemetery is so sad, people move away ,family history is not all passed on so people get forgotten.
Very sad.

My family are the Moores mother Elizabeth hannah, Daughter Marion died 1928,son Albert died 1936 all buried at orford road I found their records at Manchester central library microfilm.I think they bulldozed the graves without exhuming!!! these people were laid to rest for eternity within 20 years of alberts passing not 200.The same thing happened to Ardwick cemetery….
