Title: Cutter Family in Newcastle

Hello!

I'm working on some profiles for members of the Cutter family that migrated to New England in the 1630s. We know for sure of a widow, Elizabeth Cutter, one daughter Barbory Cutter and two sons, Richard and William Cutter. They all seem to come from Newcastle upon Tyne. William returned to Newcastle between the 1640s and 1650s. It's been hard to find birth and marriage records for some of them. I'm still researching the identity of the children's father as well. I was wondering if there was anyone working on that family in England. Apart from William's return, records indicate there were other Cutters in the area at the time. Most of the records I found are from All Saints, but some genealogist indicate there were Cutters in Morpeth as well. If there's anyone else studying this family I'd love to hear from you!

I have several Cutters born in the late 1600/early 1700s in Corbridge. A well known family of blacksmiths. If you google Registers of Corbridge you get a wonderful and easy to use search tool

Hi - if you haven't already, you might want to look through wills and inventories registered in Durham  for Cutter family members. The North East inheritance database is searchable by name and abode - and all but the earliest documents are available online. http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/data/simple.php

There are 15 Northumbrian Cutter probate records between 1597 and 1701.

@Ladybird: these Cutters are coopers. but I'll definitely look up the Corbridge Cutters. I'll try those registers.
@snowball: I'm checking the Durham database now. I had been looking for some wills in the local FHC, but because of COVID they're only opening once a week. So it's been painfully slow! One of them is Cuthbert Cutter's and I just found it on the Durham database. Thanks so much!
