Free access starts today on Ancestry.com - Friday, 11 March through Thursday, 17 March.
ADDED:
If you're logged in via Ancestry.co.uk:
On the main screen - scroll to the drop-down menu "Visit Our Other Sites" and select United States. When the new log in screen appears, log in as normal. This should give you access to the free global immigration records on Ancestry.com

Thank you

Thank you Hillhurst. I have a few queries I want to follow up

Is there a web page which explains how we can take advantage of the free access, please?

Hi,
Would like to get access, only pay for UK records. Have tried searching USA, which states I need world wide payment.
Can you give a connection that I might try or is this offer only if you have world sub?
Thanks

Hmm, tried it with three of mine, one to S. Africa, two to Canada - no hrlp at all. Must be doing something wrong (no surprise!)

Spendlove, try changing the url from .co.uk to .com. I don't have a sub at the moment but my login defaults to .co.uk and it wanted me to pay for a worldwide sub to see the passenger lists that looked to be of interest. Changed the url to ancestry.com and did the search again, worked fine (although it suggested as I am in the UK I might want to use their .co.uk site - absolutely not!)
Jane :-)

How do you say "Absolutely not"? In my case, it switches to Ancestry.co.uk almost instantly.

It's not just you, I can log into all except .com.
