Am trying to find information on this person, the only information I have is on a birth certificate as the father of a female child.

Perhaps he is the same Henry C Begent who married Ivy E Pyne in Brentford district, Mar qtr 1919? I can see at least 4 subsequent Begent/Pyne children on FreeBMD.

Seems a bit old to be fathering a child some 20 years later?? 

He was not married to the mother.

Take a look at the occupation of Henry C Begent b. 1895 on the 1939 register.

Hi - this looks like it might be him - a recipient of the Imperial Service medal in 1957.
