Hello,
Can anyone give me an advice or suggestion on what to do next please?
My grandmother's name was born as Teresa (no middle name) McNulty in December 1926, her mother was listed as Mary McNulty, no maiden is given
On the baptism there's this
Teresia Maria McNulty of Maria McNulty and ----
sponsor was Elizabeth McKeon
She married to my grandfather in Ealing, Middlesex as Mary Theresa McNulty
Her passport dated in 1988 was listed as Teresa Mary Hayes
She passed away in Feb 1991 as Theresa Mary Hayes
As you can see how many variant my grandmother had! My question is where do I go from there? I've no idea how to search for Mary/Maria - All I know from a story that my nan was sent to convent school and her mother married to a guy who I've no idea of.
Thanks,
Eames

Birth cert says Rotunda - address given of mother's place of residence is 16 Kirwan Street Cottages.
Baptism took place at St Mary's Pro-Cathedral
Thank you

Thanks.
Was the informant, then, a hospital employee?
Was the convent school, an industrial/children’s home or did she live with her mother, do you know?
Did her mother definitely marry?
Is there an address on the baptism record?
You might want to try searching http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ although it is difficult.
This is for information - there is nothing here to think this is your family.
1911 census with a Mary aged 9 yrs so therefore 24 ish in 1926.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Drumcondra/St__Patrick_s_Terrace/28254/
Her father Peter is shown at that address in 1926 Street directory (via Ancestry).
Her sister Eileen’s marriage with another sister Agnes as witness
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1935/08949/5239425.pdf
Death of mother Beatrice with daughter Eva/Eveline as informant
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1970/04149/4054806.pdf
The above are one family, but may not be yours. Your Mary (mother) may not be Dublin born etc

Hello,
In answering to your questions..
Was the informant, then, a hospital employee? I think so, says Pasley present at birth Rotunda
Was the convent school, an industrial/children’s home or did she live with her mother, do you know? I've no idea, we only know what my nan told my aunt - she was sent there and her mother gotten married. Dont remember if she had told my aunt how old she was and who did her mum marry.
Did her mother definitely marry? As far as we know, yes
Is there an address on the baptism record? No address on it, just a copy to certify that she was baptised there. Maybe I ought to email them asking if the address shows the same as her birth?
Thanks for the other info, I will check that out. Yes I did think that her mum may not be Dubliner, But I just have no idea where she possibly from. Thought my DNA test would help me to solve it but no - brickwall still standing, laughing at me..!

Hi again,
I'm just wondering what's your take (to anyone) the DNA that I have taken few years ago, suggested me to Roscommon/Longford for some reason .. Wonder if that might be a clue as in where the McNultys from - what do you think? I'm still on the hunt for Mary McNulty b unknown last living at 16 Kirwan Street Cottages at the time of my nan's birth in 1926. Frustratingly that I have 2 1st-2nd cousin matches - one not read/replied and another read, but not replied since I sent them a message from Jan 2022
How do I find the address and see who lived there in any of Irish database online/office? Any other avenue I can look for please?
Thanks,
Eames

Hello again.
I have just looked again for directories but no luck. The one on Ancestry, not sure of the year, that I looked at is not helpful.
For Kirwan Street Cottages, it just says that there are a number (83?) if small cottages but no names or numbers, sadly.
1911 shows Daniel and Martin Burke living there.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Arran_Quay/Kirwan_Street_Cottages_/43043/
I hope someone with better knowledge will come along here.
With regard to your DNA matches. I know it is frustrating when there is no reply.
Are the two close cousin matches shared with each other?
By using shared matches can you get a bigger picture of the matches/area?
