I am trying to find out any information about Thomas FRY born around 1789 in Milverton, Somerset who married Ann Harriet BARNES born around 1789 also possibly Milverton. They married in Milverton in 1820 and I have them with 5 children:- James 1820, George 1822, Abraham 1825, Isaac 1826, Samuel 1831.
I think James married Mary Ann BETTY. Isaac married Ann BUDD.
Abraham joined the military and was sent to Barbados where he met and married Margaret Ann WESTON and they moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia. I am not sure if George and Samuel married but it is believed they died in the Crimean War.
Family in Nova Scotia said they thought the Thomas ran a farm (Fry's Farm) in Milverton but I have never been able to find this on a census although Thomas seems to be an ag lab but not a farmer.
I would appreciate any information re census, BMD, military records or advice on how I may go about finding these. Hope this is not too much.
Very grateful, Kay

Hi
I'm descended from Isaac Fry, Thomas's son. Isaac's daughter, Doris, was my grandmother.

When and where was Doris born?

Hi Mark E
Haven't been on this forum for a while. I have my family tree on Ancestry. Your grandmother Doris Verna Fry was my 2nd cousin 1x removed. I have her dates as 1923-2009 in Nova Scotia. Did she marry Norman W Bennett. I would be very interested to share family information with you.
If you want to send me your email I could give you access to my Ancestry tree.
Best wishes

Just to satisfy my curiosity, Mark has put
'I'm descended from Isaac Fry, Thomas's son. Isaac's daughter, Doris, was my grandmother'
now Isaac was born in 1823 and you have Doris born in 1923, which does seem very impressive if a little unlikely.

Got me there Chempat!!! Was so excited to hear from another relative I rushed right in without checking. I do have a Doris with the dates I mentioned etc. but she was not the daughter of Isaac Fry. Her father was Clarence Walter Fry 1899-1966 Nova Scotia. My Thomas Fry was born 1788-1862 Somerset. He did have a son named Isaac Fry ~1826 Somerset to 1893 Wales and he married Ann Budd. I should have waited for more info from Mark E to find out which Isaac and Doris he was descended from.
Thanks for catching my mistake.
