Hi,
From searching online there seems to be ambiguous information on which 18th Century parish records for Welshampton survive.
The records on Findmypast begin in 1772. This is consistent with the MF parish records stated to be held by Shropshire Archives on shropshire.gov.uk. However, there are earlier dates listed on some sites, although these could be referring to BTs I guess. There are also some pre-1772 baptism records searchable on familysearch, although I assume they are from BTs. Familysearch has a MF listed (not accessible off-site) for the following (no burials):
Baptisms, 1636, 1659-1660, 1662-1667, 1669, 1671-1677, 1680-1682, 1701-1711, 1718-1782, 1785-1787, 1792-1810; Births, 1787-1792; Marriages, 1661, 1663, 1665, 1667, 1671, 1674-1675, 1677, 1701-1704, 1707, 1709-1711, 1721-1730, 1733-1736, 1739, 1742-1746,
I was wondering if someone more familiar with the parish could clarify more what exists and what doesn't. In paritcular:
- Is the above listed BT dates about right as a summary of what survives from pre-1772 baptisms?
- Has all record of pre-1772 burials been lost, or has that list of dates by familysearch just been truncated before getting to the list of burials? I'm not so familiar with Shropshire BTs, but from other counties I've found normally that bap/mar/bur are listed together year by year. In that case normally if the baptism BTs for a given year survive, so do those for burials etc.
Many thanks,
Chesters

Ancestry has Shropshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812
The earliest transcriptions seem to be about 1660 at Welshampton, source noted as Shropshire Archives.

Thanks. There appears to be no burial records there.
